DONNEXSTRADA was founded in 2020 as a grassroots response to the growing need for safety and solidarity in public spaces. The idea took shape on Instagram during a period of intense public attention to gender-based violence in public spaces following the lockdowns. It began with live video calls designed to accompany women on journeys during which they felt unsafe.
From this everyday practice of shared care, a more structured community gradually developed. It later became an association and now runs a range of awareness-raising and advocacy initiatives.
